Well I am starting a new job at a pretty cool game studio in Austin. incredible…. we all get let go on a Friday and I have a good job offer on a Tuesday. not too bad. phew… now I can breathe.
my apologies to the two readers I have for the delay.
Who would’ve thought that Nester would reflect/predict the common attitude of a future generation of gamers heheh. Hey if Nintendo power would like me to start drawing this strip i’d be happy to….otherwise, please forgive me for the cameo…I’m completely broke….no……….really. -_o
Due to unfortunate circumstances the strip is delayed this week. The studio I worked for pulled the plug on our project and had to let go of quite a few of us. Good news is I have a couple things in the fire. I’m out of town interveiwing for work. So the strip is delayed because of this and I dont have everything I need to work on it. The strip for today just needs to be colored. woot!
Please drop a quick prayer for things to work out …so that I may take care of my family.

Honestly, a day/time without a new George Lucas film is a sad day. As ridiculous as some of the choices that were made in the Star Wars movies I cannot complain. Working in an industry of games and animation I can see how choices were made that were thought of as good ideas at the time but poorly executed in the end. for example, look at the infamous Jar Jar Binks of ep.01. If you go and look at the amazing character expression studies done by Ian McCaig you would have been convinced to greenlight that character too. I know I would have. some times it’s just a case of people being too afraid to tell someone that an idea stinks.
George Lucas and Steven Spielberg have not ruined my childhood in any way, I already lived it and they made a big impression on me when I was younger. those guys(my parents and 2nd grade teacher) are responsible for shaping me into what I have become in my later years.
Their films are not the same films they would have made then because they have grown older. ideas and beliefs grow and change. The new Indy movie wasn’t the best, it was more like Sky Captain….and it isn’t like the older films that’s for sure.
But, if George decides to make another….guess what? I’ll be there buying a ticket for it.

I struggled with this particular strip. I don’t know if it was my colorblindness (which isn’t all that bad) or my lack of good color theory. I can’t explain it…
After I finished this strip it occurred to me that I was struggling with the same difficulties that the character Noah has with letting go. So I just decided… despite my effort I will let it go. warts and all.
